Congratulations! It's always good to have another supporter.So...
Hubby was talking to a coworker about our chickens...
And the coworker told him we need a bigger coop!
He came home and said "well I think we need something with at least four laying boxes, and a bigger pen, and a big door on the end so you can open it wide to scoop out the poop."
The chicken math has gotten to him!!!!
He's also hoping to get a dozen eggs for us this week too, he's never had farm raised eggs so he isn't sure what I mean when I say they're so good.
So, all, do keep them coming - I will mull over all options. That said, @lightm , I like this the best of the three you suggestedStatischicken
Picture it, you are sitting on your deck with a nice cup of coffee. That song starts playing and out of the corner of your eye she pops her head up with that stare. A second later her head disappears. The song keeps playing and her head pops up again, closer this time only to disappear a second time. This goes on until bam, she flies up on the deck to demand her treats or chase poor Phyllis. I told you, this is her song.
Sounds idyllic. I hope is works out for you.I just snooped to see what the forecast is on Thursday. Mid 50's and dry. After today's initial visit with hospice and the paperwork is filled out I do not need to be present when she is here. I am going to make sure I have a pot of coffee brewed before she gets here. I am taking the entire pot outside with me and opening up Poppet's coop and I am going to sit in the run between the horse stalls. Just sit, listen to the horses breathing and watch the chickens. I have not been able to do that truthfully for more then 5 minutes at a time here and there since September when Grandma came home from the hospital after covid. The thought of being able to do that just about brings me to tears. How much sitting I will actually get to do we will see. Russ will try to mob me for my coffee. Dirt will beg and demand booty scratches and Branch will need snuggled. I will relish every single second of it.
I LOVE this - and, Phyllis doesn't know it (well, now she does!), but she included one of my all-time favorites!! I didn't think she was into old-school Pat Benatar!!! I'm gonna play this while working on my spring class this evening. Hope my 'bopping around' doesn't make me create too many typos! The Playlist is Done!
Thank you to everyone who suggested songs. There is over 2 hours of music on this playlist! Phyllis did not accept every suggestion. While her taste in music is varied not everything fit her vibe. She did take some suggestions keeping the band but choosing a different song. She asks that everyone please understand and not be disappointed. She loved all the suggestions. Thank you to all who participated.

Can we just be real for a minute? No we can’t, that’s not fundoes Phyllis know that she’s the center of attention with these songs?
Grandma update:
Hospice is making their first visit today at 10:30. I am surprised they are coming. We hit brick walls with home health. Nagging her dr since September and the office never managed to set it up. When he decided 2 weeks ago on her last telehealth appointment that it was time for hospice honestly I thought yeah right. Well, they just called asking for directions and are on their way. Realistically there is not much they can do, or anybody for that matter. I have 2 major concerns that they can hopefully address and give advice on. One is her legs and the swelling issues, the other is the spot that we have been battling for 5 months that is threatening to be the start of a bed sore. It will not completely heal, but is not getting worse and due to it's location no matter what position we put her in she cannot be gotten off of it 100%.
