I am way behind, rough week here. But yes I will look forward to seeing photosWow. Sounds like you have your hands full.
We do love pictures on this thread - and I am sure she will weigh in soon, we have someone who wants to see stripes and wattles!
See I am glad I didn’t answer her! Just think of the Should Have Read Ahead (SHRA) tax I would owe!Awwww. Adorable!
To share video most people upload their video to YouTube (or equivalent) and post the link in the thread.
There is a way to post video directly to BYC using the gallery feature. I did figure it out once but I have now forgotten how!
Yes feast or famine, but I am glad it wasn’t this bad this time. We will get snow tomorrow and through the weekend. Only a few inches so manageable. Our significant snows are driven by nor'easters . Some winters there are none, some winters there is one a week. It's kind of feast or famine here.
This single storm delivered over 30 inches in one storm a while back. I have had snow piled 5 feet high along the sidewalks before.
These were 1/2 way through the storm. That's the old coop. It was buried when the storm was over. View attachment 3747342View attachment 3747343
This was the second night of the storm. More fell after this.

There are 3 cars in this picture. 2 in the driveway, red and grey and a blue one out on the street.

This is the car nearest the house, a red Toyota Celica. View attachment 3747346

I brought the chickens in the house or they would have smothered under the snow. I used a ladder for a makeshift roost.

So it's not technically unusual but it's not every year. I am fully equipped to deal with it. Took me 10 minutes to dig out today.
35?!I think you're right, because there are 35 hens at least there, and this is what would happen naturally. It will be interesting to see how Bert comes along (hoping Pony keeps him!)
I don’t remember where I got that pictureHappy Valentine’s Day to all my friends on BYC.

…again I am glad I didn’t fall for that oneI don’t think PonyPoor actually used one on herself. But maybe she did put one on her chicken![]()
…. tooo easy Alex……I've made hen saddles before for one of my husband's coworkers, he said they worked pretty well.
