I wonder if pooping on my lap at least once every time is a Leghorn thing...

I'd have loved to have found a someone like that a few years ago.You do have a lovely chicken!
There is a breeder who is very interested in genetics and does this as a hobby so he is small scale and not a big hatchery. I believe he does ship chicks and eggs, but he is only a couple of hours drive from me so I can go and collect them.
He only breeds a small handful of breeds - just the ones he likes - so if I wanted something else I would have to go elsewhere.

Tried this yesterday for the Buckeyes with mixed results. Popcorn pecked & tasted it, then took the pill chunk from me to privately explore it and keep it away from the Spuds. Then she gulped it down. Next one went right in, no questions asked, yay!azygous offered this tip:
Chickens love peanut butter. Cut the calcium pill into pieces and coat them with PB.
I haven't actually tried the PB yet. I'll report on it if I do.Or blueberries, could I stuff a pill piece into one and it wouldn't dissolve too much before she eats it? She won't take a big blueberry, only smaller ones.
