Well, Mr P crows in the morning, and is then generally quiet the rest of the day. Don’t know about silkies but I would say they likely are quiet, Rebecca would know best.

Also an older Roo likely doesn’t crow as much as a youngster. mr P is 3 now so he is an older boy.

That’s sad your hubby had such a bad experience, having dealt with many naughty animals over the years I know it can be distressing, esp if one isn’t used to dealing with animals.

Mr P says better not to get a Roo if all parties are not onboard

I just think that Mr P’s hairdo (with that blue) looks like that cotton candy you get at a Fair

I do and it’s still not working!! The breeder I got my Orps from has dark brahmas I missed last yr as they were already sold out.

I have been to the page at least 4 times and said no not this yr next year, but I am struggling I will not lie. Also my daughter really wants silkies.

So I finally decided on four breeds on the Peavey Mart website. They are the Buff Brahma, Lavender Orpington (little Hattie), Midnight Majesty Marans, and the Olive egger.
(There are so many more that I want to get but they're SO expensive-- will have to get them next year)

When will they be arriving?

Oh yes silkies are adorable! But they are tiny so you will need to keep them from your Roos - even Mr P is a bit big for my ladies, I keep a close eye on them to make sure they are ok.

Agreed - gosh I am just freaked out by what they do with ‘food’ material.

I am also sooooo glad that I make my own bread - I can’t imagine the use of all those chemicals in bread! Ugh

Also really going to seriously try to find a Mobile abitoiur here to process poultry. I am just furious at the quality of meat these days.

My Mom only buys organic meat since she's grossed out by the ick they do with meat.

They might, but I'm quite certain it was the normal mail carrier delivering.

They also work on Sunday as well so I am not surprised at the fact that they would be open on a federal holiday.

I drink tea. So, my urge to buy chicks is super high compared to my coffee.

You going to sell all of them?

Yeah... My all time high for eggs per day was 37 eggs. A few days ago I got 35 eggs.
(My hens are really laying well!)
