Yes Easter is a blessed time for having family around, it was lovely her Gran had her daughter and granddaughter and great granddaughter close by.I am so sorry for your loss, and am praying for you and your family. I know she will be very much missed. I do not recall whether or not you mentioned if she was a believer, but if she was, isn't it a wonderful thought that she went to meet her maker in time to celebrate His Resurrection with Him?
Yes I hear you, it’s very difficult being pulled in many different directions.
I would say that you do not have to spend every waking hr with Sir Jaffar. As long as he has a safe secure location to be in when you are not around, then he should be fine with his ladies around him. But it must be a place were that randy neighbours Roo can’t get at him, and were he will be safe from the elements. If they all have to locked in the coop for a few hrs then that is what needs to be done.
You can not and must not put your life on hold, you need balance as much as your flock does. Does this make sense?

I’m not set up for that but thank you anyway@featherhead007 I think if you can get him set up in the coop area where his food and water are within reach and you train him where it all is, then he'll be able to find it with the ladies' help. As Pony says though the area must be secure from all predators. The whole gang can spend some time in the secure space while you're out. At night you can bring him and a lady friend in for evening meal and to spend the night.
You could also set everyone up to roost lower down, if it is secure out there. You know my gals roost on a square platform, in a bunch together, with a wall on all four sides for the most part. So in the dark it doesn't matter when they shift position, they will still be on the platform
We are family, and if they want to be in the house with Sir Jaffar, then the more the merrier!I’m not set up for that but thank you anyway
Yup, that’s a Labrador Retriever in his glory! Even if the water’s only six inches deep and one foot wide. I like how he cleared out the dead grass to get a better assessment of the situation in there. Any chance you can take him to some real water in the summer?
Do you have a typo in there? Usually thyroid meds for humans are measured in micrograms, not grams.Thyroxine and shell quality... Not having a lot of luck other than that one little quote. That source also doesn't say HOW much to give, though another study I read used 0.3 gms. But they weren't testing for shell quality.
One good thing... Thyroxine seems to be easy to get.
https://www.petmd.com/pet-medication/thyro-tabs-canine-levothyroxine-sodium
"Levothyroxine ... can also be used to treat hypothyroidism in birds and tortoises....
"Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of a naturally occurring thyroid hormone called thyroxine."
Well. That was fun. Don't know if it will lead me anywhere. If it does, I'll let you know.
Oh my goodness! Yes! Thank you. I'll go back and edit.Do you have a typo in there? Usually thyroid meds for humans are measured in micrograms, not grams.
.3 grams = 300,000 micrograms. Average / usual human doses range from 25 to 125 micrograms.
That rascal roo was in my yard today. Jaffar and Coco, Xzit and Hen-Rietta were all inside with me. If I still had BEN that other roo would be history by now!Yes I hear you, it’s very difficult being pulled in many different directions.
