A bit ago, the cats have mostly learned to leave her alone, though they are fascinated by her.

Screw u. Maybe one of you can come over and feed the little devil darlings I have, while I continue on with my life, and not be so featherly handicapped!
I have a lot of devil darlings…. They seem to think the whole flock is theirs for their commanding. Brats!

Well, some updates here.

I think I have two rooster babies, one of the Amerucana’s and the normal eyed Jubilee but tbh I am not 100% sure on either yet.

I took the little one’s tent out to the big coop after giving the coop a spring clean. They spent last night out there. The big chickens can see them and hear them but cant get to them.

Today, I locked the bigs out of the coop and run for a few hours and let the little ones explore the coop and run. I will do the same for about a week I think. Separate but together.

In other news, Lore went after my daughter today for the third time, while I was holding her hand and this after a whole year of being a gentleman. I really thought I was in the clear. Sighh, I will be rehoming any emerging and current roosters at this point. Maybe someday when the kids are older I will try and give it a go again but right now I just can’t risk it.

I hope that it is a defect that she grows into, and hope that it isn't something indicative of some sort of hydrocephaly.

If she is eating, drinking and pooping then I would just cross my fingers and hope for the best; as for another chick pecking her, I might put her in with a very quiet chick that doesn't have an urge to peck, or I wonder if some sort of protective goggle can be made up for her.
Broke my humorus arm bone May 6 & in pain so haven't caught up all FBA posts plus typing w/one finger at a time here so haven't got to end posts yet to see how your chick is doing?

We've had special needs chicks in the past & resolved early on to do as necessary including keeping them as indoor special needs pets. One chick we lost at 3 wks while another very needy chick w/ some deformity lived to 3 months. A friend has a hen who lost one wing as a chick & became a house chicken cuz if she fell or got knocked down she couldnt stand up again & roos mercilessly took mating her in crippled defenseless posture. Our vet had a Starling w/ an amputated wing he chose to save as an ofc mascot rather than kill.

Be prepared to care for a special needs bird. Some owners simply cull deformed chicks which may or may not be suitable for all owners. We do get attached to our birds & wish to do all we can.

I would not advise special goggles or apparatus as other curious chickens will pull it off. Just a band-aid on my hand & chicks or chickens want to tear it off or peck off my wedding ring w/ surprising beak strength! I will keep reading these FBA posts to catch up news on everyone's birdies & pets!

Yes that is dangerous for a child, it’s surprising that he would do that now. I wonder what made him change?

Oh gosh! Sorry to hear you hurt yourself - that just not humourous
(Now come on you know I was going to say that right? 😊).

I think knoturavggrl chick is doing well, and seems to be growing into her eye a bit.

Meanwhile I have a new hatchling with spraddle leg, have her in hobbles.

These chooks are going to give us grey hair!

What do you suggest that I should do, if not use my financial resources to stop the offending neighbors? Bring out my shotgun? I’m not a bully nor have I ever been one. And being put in the category, offends me.
I think you have mis read my meaning. I was agreeing with you. If you were a bully we would not be having any communication at all. I ignore bully's. Full stop
