My roo, the Wyandottey, is doing just fine. He loves spending time with me. He still has that uncomfortable squeaky voice, but he’s so calm and sweet towards me. View attachment 3861656
He’s a lovely youngster and will be extremely handsome when he is finished growing.

Either the Leghorn or the Cuckoo Marans was plucking the Silkies BALD!

Silkies Violet & Mini showed alarming signs of a feather eater (2012). Found our troublemaking Cuckoo Marans "Tish" was the feather eater plus she picked fights w/ our nice Leghorn "Bela" (who put Tish in her place many times). The Cuckoo eggs were a pretty #4 brown but not Marans chocolate brown plus we only got a couple from her per week so Tish was re-homed. We had traded away cockerel "Trumpet" for "Tish" and now we had neither bird. Tish was just too big a hen & a bully towards the smaller Leghorn & Silkies. This is when we decided to have only gentle temperament breeds in our little backyard. Some owners try to break bullies but Tish was a feather eater too plus way heavier than our other girls so she had too much going against her and not a good fit in our flock.
