Well tomorrow I pick I the school chicks - I wonder what they kids have named them all this year 😊♥️

I am immediately rehoming the blue egg chicks, the silkies I am thinking of holding onto. Seeing if I can get a gender test done with then. I don’t want to clip a toe nail short they are so timely, maybe grab some breast feathers as they come in-?

But if one is a pullet I may keep it.

We have no Queen. We have no knight anymore! :hit :old
That might be reason for the brawl...figuring out who the new one will be. As they're all about the same age (with Dakota younger), it may take some time...and intervening extends the process. Best you can do is make sure no one gets cornered.

I will not allow bloodshed in my house. :old

Oh you have such adorable chooks - gosh I am enjoying hearing about them ♥️♥️♥️♥️
TY :D Likewise I enjoy everyone's sagas on here :love
Our 13+year saga will continue in individual posts from 2011 to present day as you may have noticed already.

Sadly our current 6 girls will be our last. Don't want them to outlive me & saddle DH alone w/them. When the last one remains (most likely a Silkie) it will most likely become a house pet -- w/ no flockmates to stay outdoors it won't be safe alone.

I've posted this pic so much cuz it's the only time we got all 6 together!
