I found this in the Chicken yard 3 days ago. Could it be the thing killing hens and taking eggs?
Looks like some sort of milk snake. I wouldn’t say that’s what’s attacking your chooks. As for the eggs I can’t say as I have not had any issues with eggs being stolen by predators.

Pretty snake though.

We have one of those only ours is a hen!

Big temperature change here. Went from 25c with a humidex of 91f to 17°C (64F), no humidex (feels like 17c). And the wind is ferocious!

I closed the windows in the hen house and the Summer House as the wind was howling in there. Such wild temperatures swings are just not good for anyone.

The wee babies and silkie chicks are all snuggled under the larger brooder plate tonight, it’s warmer under there also.

That was awesome! What a pretty song 🥰 Is that an apricot or peach tree?
DH says TY! Dwarf Meyer Lemon tree. To deter rats we didn't plant sweet fruit trees cuz of rats/squirrels -- just pink grapefruit, meyer lemon, and hard shell pomegranate trees for chicken shade. Our Dominique "Dana" will reach for low-hanging pomegranate fruit and peck it to pieces. All our hens devour pomegranate seeds.
