Looks like some sort of milk snake. I wouldn’t say that’s what’s attacking your chooks. As for the eggs I can’t say as I have not had any issues with eggs being stolen by predators.

Pretty snake though.
I have had every flavor of milk shake known to man! But never have I had a that:
Oh, you meant Milk Snake. My mistake

Calm…. Calm… think what to do. Be self aware about the situation that presents itself to you. Okay, I went to the fridge and brought some ice cold Greek yogurt to Xzit. She’s enjoying it thoroughly!
(Note to self, add yogurt to your grocery list) I’m going back to town tomorrow anyway

I'm so sorry Rebecca.

I haven't heard of closed bumble foot before. Hopefully he could survive the operation. How old is he?
Bubba is 3. Surgery is not a option, my vet will not do it. He will see chickens for minor problems, but if anesthesia is required he is not set up for it for birds. I would have to take him at least 3 hours away to a avian specialist. I love Bubba, and I will do anything for him if possible. A 700+ vet bill is not possible right now. I also had not heard of closed bumblefoot. He told me in his opinion he picked up a infection that traveled to his feet and settled there. Especially since it is both feet in the same spot.

Any chance of incubating a purebred son of his?
Not a chance I am afraid. While still breeding hens he has slowed down. I have only saw him favor Owly, the sussex and the orp Siri. Branch has stepped up and covering the rest of the girls. It has actually been a bit since I saw him breed one of the Marans.

How about pure eggs from one of his sons you've sold?

CeeCee is in with me and Xzit. image.jpg
