Very warm over night here now. Fans are going full tilt.

My wee chickies and silkie chicks just do not want to roost at night - they want to pile in that corner to sleep.

And this is what I mean about Reenie - she loves to sleep! From the aisle was camera one can’t see her fully.

But in the stall cam she is flat out and I bet snoring - the fan is too loud for me to hear.

Ok have a great day everyone!
Aw! Thats excactly what I mean! Horse sleep like there dead!

This is tough. Where are these mystery chickens coming from?
I bet she’s an olive egger, time will tell. But I really like her and she friendly enough - the buff Orps are too friendly - they like to peck and pull at me all. the. time! Sheesh!

I think unless you specifically order a breed they will fill with whatever they have, in fact I think I read somewhere that is their policy. Unless you specifically say you don’t want a substitute.

Last call for two fors

Those two look like they are looking for trouble 😁

I have seen them here in the feed store, they seem popular.
We'd have to have 4 or 5 of them placed around the yard cuz our girls won't share from a common feeder :lau. Would cost an arm and a leg on our retirement income for such a cute luxury. DH gets to bring home the overflow of paper plates from his job and that's good enuf freebies for the hens! As long as it's food they'll eat off of anything!! :idunno

Wish I could get them to ship up here - but I am grateful we have some different varieties from Hoovers. Just wish they offered more like the Dark Brahma or the Appenzeller Spitzhauben ♥️😊

Well maybe in a couple years I will get some of them. I have decided to keep the 3 buff Orps, and 3 Americanas. They will be a good replacement for my older ladies who have stopped laying.

The 4 youngest chicks I will sell when they get to POL. The silkie ls are up in the air 😢
Seems like reasonable selections.

Yeah the money goes to rescuing ducks and chickens though so it's worth it for me. I had to cancel my big yarn festival plans due to my dog needing dental work, so this small thing is some consolation.

Bob she (Jaffarra) is ‘supposedly’ an Americana, but I thought they had muffs and beards. Not a crest…. And she is really lanky and leggy. Long and lean like a thoroughbred horse.

I think they mixed her in with them to make up the numbers.
Our feed store has brooders easily accessed by customers or their bratty kids and they can sneak picking up cute chicks and carelessly return them to a wrong brooder pen so the next customer better know their chick breeds before purchasing cuz the feed store doesn't take "returned chicks" if a customer gets a misplaced brooder chick.
