@notabitail ~ my DH is a techy & he says w/the kind of traffic BYC gets & amount that networks glitch it's expected w/'puters. I use a laptop at home. Many others use their cellphones, DH has a tower. I don't know if I repeated correctly how DH explained it but I guess anything can happen at either end ~ the website or the user.

I am sorry I have been self absorbed the past few days. I saw but did not post condolences for the passing of both In-Albis and Aurora. I am truly sorry for both their losses, they were very well loved.

I also saw poor royalchick is dealing with double broodies. The tyrant Calypso who I hope is broken and dear Tassels. I really think next year if there is no traveling Tassels should get the chance to be the mom she wants to be. If you are up to it that is.

Ponypoor has a new temporary rooster. He is cute but he really needs his sister for company. I am all for allowing children to have pets, being around farm animals and such. This one bothers me. In a way it seems cruel. You get your child 2 chicks, you know they are going to turn them into pets only to have to give them away in a few weeks. To me it is setting the wrong example. What has she learned, chickens are throw-a-ways now. It would have been better to find someone who has chickens and arrange visits every couple weekends to be around them.

I myself know I and deeply due to post chicken tax pictures. I promise to pay up in full Thursday. I need new pictures of the chicks anyway. They are in the middle of a growth spurt and are growing like weeds. I have neglected them though and Adele let me know it today when she flew on top my head and gave me a heck of a time getting her down. I promised them if they would just bear with me until Thursday morning I will resume my cups of coffee first thing in the mornings with them in the coop. We were making such progress even with the silkies. Out and about they were willing to join Adele in hopping on my lap for cuddles. Since Friday afternoon all I have had time or the energy to do is feed, water, gather eggs and do head counts to make sure everyone is accounted for. The adults are also angry as there have been no midday extra treats for snacks. Dottie let her displeasure be known this evening by stalking again and pecking the backs of my legs. If we make it home at a decent hour today I am going to bake cornbread. Not for us, oh no. The whole skillet full will be for the chooks as a "I'm sorry, I do love you" bribe.
Don't apologize for life going sideways and your family needing you, Mama Bear. We (at least we should) understand.

The chickens, on the other hand,....you're right. They need Apology Cornbread .....might need mealworms baked in...or blueberries....maybe a fruit goodies bucket popsicle to break apart....

:clap
I'm so proud of everyone's respect here.

Just over a month ago my grandson, he is 10, is mentally challenged, got bullied and beaten at school.
He was covered in bruises. This bullying has been happening for some time and the teachers were aware but choose too allow it to continue

All the teachers advised when the both parents went to the school, pointing out the bruises after visits too their doctors, is... "he really should change his friends".

I was stunned . How these people are permitted to be near children', let alone be responsible and even teach them absolutely terrifies me.
Wow that’s really sad!

Why bother being in child care/education??? Sheesh!

Tax Little Mouse, the wee chick I was so worried about with the (suspected) coccidiosis. I love her feather pattern
