I love when my hens "pass" out...

Honestly, @Ponypoor , you have enough hens and space that you should be able to have at least 2 roos for the big girls. The teens need to get through the hormonal idiot stage, and then they will settle down. While you may not like it, it may well be that Mr. P becomes second in command. After all, he has a very docile temperment and was low rooster where he came from...so there may well be some jostling for position, and once it is settled, I bet Mr. P and Bert could get along quite well.....and 'co-rooster' your flock. And, like I said, it may well mean that Mr. P would be 'second roo', which is not at all a bad thing. He has his girls, Bert will have his (seems he essentially already does), but they can share 'look-out duties' and such - which is a GOOD thing - it is way too many girls for one roo to watch and care for - the stress could easily shorten his life.

@rural mouse & @RebeccaBoyd & @BY Bob thoughts on this?

And Mr & Mrs LC...they can stay - Mr. LC will just fly up and away from the other 2 boys. The big girls can thump him if he encroaches, and he has a Mrs. LC for company and noogies.
Agreed. Whiskey has taken over as flock master. Cheetah, the oldest, and Hector, the next oldest (by about 10 weeks over Whiskey) give way to him. I haven't seen any fights like Kren and Horus had last year, but I do see chasing. As long as they have room to evade/ give ground, they settle and respect space.

Here's a picture of a Breda cockerel approx 4+ months ~ plenty of saddle feathers but still no exquisite tail or sickle feathers that are known on Breda roos.

A Breda pullet at the same age has a full straight-up tail.

Any feathers at the tail are more rounded on females while male feathers forming at the tail are usually more pointy at the ends of the newly forming tail feathers.
Awww he looks so sad without a tail 🥰

All my barnyard mutt cockerels have nice Roo tails by the time they are a few months old.

Darn cockerel,

He wouldn’t go in the barn, and I couldn’t catch him.

So he is on his own outside until I do chores. And if I still cannot catch him, then he is on his own. Maybe he will be lucky and survive the night …..
Apparently BIL says he is out there freaking out, trying to get in the barn.

Good! Maybe he will go inside now.

Ok off to do some chicken herding (like herding cats).

😆

Wow! Those are marvelous. Quite a nice collection you have there. I don't think I have ever seen a chicken rug before.
Teehee! There are so-o-o many chicken things online it's mind-boggling! Amazon has some things but using google or any search engine for a chicken/rooster rug, drinking glasses, dinnerware, napkin holders, salt shakers, measuring spoons, breadboards, coasters, compost pails, breadboxes, sink drainers, turkey basters, lazy susan turntables, yard decor, calendars, picture frames, hot plates, turrets, spoon rests, soap dispensers, towel sets, pot holders, placemats, table runners, kitchen timers, plaques, hooks, switch plates, coat hooks, paper towel holders, shelf liners, cookware in chicken shapes, etc etc etc, many sites come up besides Amazon for chicken things!

We have an old Corelle dinnerware set called Country Morning w/roos, hens & chicks ~ here's our matching tea kettle

If a front screen security door came in chicken we would get it ~ we found one with hummingbird but then that's not really chickens, is it? so we just got a plain design that sort of looked like feathers.
