Momma Hen loved banana's. It was one of the first foods we got her to eat out of our hand in her taming process. Chicks that were raised by her also still enjoy Banana's. If I have old banana's it is a special treat for Karen and Squirrel only. The rest of the flock treat them with disdain.
With us, it’s grapes 🍇 Some of them only like grapes if I feed them by hand. Only two don’t like grapes. They all like the figs.
I have a plum tree also but it doesn’t produce fruit so much.

Here’s the youngsters today:

Hubby says he hopes our sebright is a girl and lays eggs this tiny. I told him quail lay that size and he said "you aren't getting no dang quail!" Haha. One of his coworkers is trying to convince him to get ducks, but no way am I cleaning ponds twice a day with my current health!

My knee is slowly healing, I've been wearing my brace and taking painkillers. My other one hurts too, the bruises are fading at least. I recommend watching where you walk on old decks, the one time I rushed I fell through!
Fell through the deck at our last house at least twice. The first time was the worst, almost all the way to my hip, my foot touched the ground. It was raining, i had a wet sheet from the garden in one arm and the mail in the other, and was home alone. I sat there for a moment trying to gather myself and finally hauled myself up and hobbled inside. Thank goodness i was wearing pants! Still very bruised and scraped up, it was so scary. Worst was that the rental company only replaced the broken section, it continued to fall apart, we gad to lay plywood in a pathway.

I didn't know the fires were mainly in the mountains. Is that just because of that is where the forests are? Or is there more to it than that?
The problem w/mtn fires is how easily they can start (neglected campfires, lightning, broken glass prisms, fireworks, kids malicious mischief, cigarettes, automobile backfires, homeless encampments, etc) and how dangerously fast the mtn fires move, how forest fires create their own fierce drafts to spread very rapidly in such large areas that fire fighters and air drops are hindered to contain the rapid spread of forest fuel ~ but the worst part is that most mtn roads are narrow or have just one road in/out that jams safe evacuation/rescue efforts. City or suburban home fires have more contained combustion and 2 or more local fire units can respond in minutes to put out residential fires quicker. Mtn fires take hours sometimes to organize firefighting efforts. Things are improving to fight but never underestimate rural or forest fire dangers.

All that wildlife will be in serious danger as well as the people that live amongst these fires :(
