Crazy crazy day

The chooks are all bonkers, fighting and carrying on. Must be a full moon coming on.

And all day we have been under tornado watches and now a heavy rainfall warning added to it

:barnie

It’s disgustingly humid even though it’s not overly warm (barely 70F)

Last hurricane dregs that passed by here, I noticed Diane Ida-Biter being extra ornery. It occurred to me the low pressure might have something to do with it.

Frustrating.

No more chicks for me. Too much heart ache.
Understandable. Hubby says we shouldn't try to incubate eggs anymore. Whatever fits under the broody hen will be our limit. We did the math and it worked out to $5/chick hatching 7 from the 24 we purchased. Which is a good deal, but still I feel bad for the failure.

Misread your weather location as OH like ohio, which is south from me. I was gonna say, wait I thought you were north of me! 😆

Are you sure the second one isn't a girl? (?Georgie?). It could have been a knock-down fight because Clyde got his mojo on and Georgie didn't like it.

If I understand @RebeccaBoyd 's decription of the differences between pullet and cockerel, the second one looks like a girl's feathering - especially the tidy tail.

Yes I would bet Georgie was a pullet also, but I have noted thicker more solid feathers growing up through her/his tail fluff.

Anyways I will wait till the blighter crows or lays an egg.

BUT she/he bit me twice this afternoon when I went to handle her/him. So what does that say?

Anywhoo it is what it is.

Yep weather can make them bonkers, I am sure the combo of a full moon and the nutty weather is making all of us bonkers.

Oh well this too shall pass as they say.

Today I see that three of the silkie hens are back laying, just Marty isn’t laying.
