Lhickenchicken is getting peaches in from British Columbia likely - I would be very surprised if anyone can grow peaches in Alberta.

Here in Ontario I am at the edge of the growing zone for peaches, some years a good hard freeze will ruin my peaches blossoms - last year 10th May we had a hard freeze of -9C and I almost lost the trees - the leaves were killed - but the tree rallied and put out more leaves. The blossoms were destroyed though. This year I lucked out with no frost or freezes.

I really hate winter.

Well, happy birthday 🎊🎁🎉 Rebecca.
Hope your day is filled with joy
Thank you but next Saturday is my Birthday. I love the horse shows do not get me wrong. But this year I have just about gotten fed up. The last 3 shows we have been slammed, and instead of 3 concession workers it has just been me and mom. We are both reaching our limit and for me this could very well be my last season working it. Trust me, I can think of a million better ways to celebrate turning 40 instead of killing myself.

Oh my gosh so adorable 🥰

I just took these of Clyde and Georgie

Next to impossible to get a phot of Georgie!

Clyde is a good little Roo and has been keeping an eye to the sky learning the ropes from Mr P and Bert.
If Bob doesn't mind you can post all the Silkie pics you can! They are great little chicklets that don't get enough credit! Our little moppets take turns keeping us in eggs!

In the UK they have standard sized Silkies! These pics from feathersite.com

Well, 4 more hours of rain this morning into afternoon and the creek is up. The show is cancelled. Going to try to have it next weekend. Happy Birthday to me.
Hey Happy Birthday! I know it’s a disappointment for the show.

They had to put the King’s Plate race off till the following Friday - it was supposed to run on the 17th Saturday August. But we had a huge rain and thunderstorm. So last Friday it was held. A fully won 😊

It’s the oldest and most prestigious horse races in Canada (formerly the Queens Plate but since has died it now the kings plate). It’s also the other ‘oldest continuously running race’ in North America.

The Kentucky Derby was first run in 1875, while The Plate has been run since 1860! The race was known as The Queen’s Plate but when Queen Elizabeth died it is now known at The King’s Plate.

“The King's Plate (known as the Queen's Platefrom 1860 to 1901 and 1952 to 2022) is Canada's oldest thoroughbred horse race and the oldest continuously run race in North America,[1] having been founded in 1860.[2] It is run at a distance of 1+1⁄4 miles (2 kilometres) for a maximum of 17 three-year-old thoroughbred horses foaled in Canada.”

It is run at Woodbine Racetrack which is about 50 min from here. This is not only potato country here but it’s also horse country ♥️

My Equine Veterinarian is very active in racing, he is the track Vet at Georgian Downs (Standardbred Racing) which is about 10 min from here. It was very convenient to have him as my vet - being only 4 km up the road! 😊

Bob would be fine with it, but HRH Queen Aurora does not feel Silkies and Polish are real chickens.

But I think she is ok with mine as they do play pink eggs, the colour of Royalty.

Fluffy, Henny and Curly’s eggs today
