Maybe a Safire gem then? I know that they are somewhat available from hatcheries and that tractor supply stores get them occasionally. Whatever she is she is very pretty!

What is her breed? a jersey giant? I thought jersey giant is supposed to be darker.

Jersey Giants come in Black, White, and rarely Blue (blue black splash). Black is by far the most common and is easily mistaken (especially as chicks) for Ausralorps. Biggest difference is skin color. The As have white skin, the Gs have yellow. As adults, the As (black ones) have black eyes and the Gs (black ones) have the standard chicken bay (orangy-red). Not sure if the white and bbs have the same eye color or not.

I just got what I am calling wonderful news. No horse show tomorrow. I have been dreading it. Rosie gave me the Rhinovirus last week and it has just been hanging on. I'm 90% over it just have a nagging cough but my energy, gone. Now tomorrow, I want to do nothing but rest and hide with the chickens.
