Clyde hasn’t bothered Mr P at all, or Bert.

It’s those youngster cockerels that are the pain in the patootie.
:D:rant:lau
And it only past few days Shorley has shown any sort of Roo behaviour.

And holy cow is he ever a chunk! And tall! He really is a big handsome boy. With feathers on his legs 😊♥️

The day I hear I am getting a niece or nephew I am building a pony pen. In all seriousness though. Sis is ready, she has been for a year or longer. Right now they are enjoying life. They both work hard at the hospital. I have to go babysit cats starting Thursday. They are going on a cruise in Mexico. Last year they went on a cruise to Turks and Caicos. Sis finally got off night shift 2 months ago and put on days. She did not want a baby while she was still stuck working 6pm to 6am. I've already informed her when the time comes she does not have to worry about childcare. As soon as maternity leave is over it is mine while she is at work.

I was blessed to be able to have Rosie. Me and her both almost did not make it through my pregnancy and I would have loved to have had a 2nd one but it was not in the cards. Now my siblings have one job, give me nieces and nephews. Anytime now people, my baby is growing up. I'm giving Rosie until she hits 30. Time to finish school and live life a little bit. Then little girl, grandbabies.....I want grandbabies.
Both my kids are married & nearing 60 now ~ they never had children. But both raise/rescue pets. Life gave them a different purpose 😊 . I guess my farm girl ways left an impression on them. My DS is always saying, "You can take the Mom off the farm ~ but you can't take the farm out of Mom!"

Some Good News, Some Bad News

On Monday Sydney celebrated her 5th birthday!

The poor girl is deep in her molt but that did not stop her from enjoying her corn cake!

The bad news......

Met the second cockerel to live at FBA.

I've known for about a month that he probably was not a hen but I did not want to admit it. Mrs BY Bob is very sad. No Polish at FBA this winter.

Versace will need to be rehomed. If anyone is interested I will travel a long way to find him a great home.
Sorry to hear this, I had my suspicions about at the 3 week mark, but like Shorley I held out hope I was wrong.

He sure is eye candy though, what a gorgeous specimen of roosterhood 🥰

Oooh, great idea :clap:clap:clap- and I KNOW she is within driving distance of @BY Bob ! Versace would be in heaven in the Palace, the girls would have a protector/look-out when free-ranging, and fertile eggs for brooding - win-win-win!:thumbsup

Although, Tassels is a big lady, Versace, being Polish, not so much. Think he would be able to successfully 'do the deed'? Would be a long 'reach' for him to successfully mate/fertilize. But, where there is a will, there is. way!
I am sure Mr LC has been perfecting his approach and analyzing the best approach to his efforts.

As you say where there is a will, there is a way.

Oh he could do it all right. I did not think Branch would be able to successfully do the deed with my big girls. Hello Twig to prove me wrong. I think this is a wonderful idea. If Versace is not yet crowing, he could continue to stay with Bob's flock for a bit longer. I bet Aunt Aurora can teach him a thing or two about manners. What he does not learn from her, Bernie will teach him. Royalchick also has the perfect flock to bring in a young idiot cockerel. All adult hens who have been there, done that and will take no nonsense. I fully support this plan.
