I meant to post these yesterday for Wattle Wednesday and I completely forgot. I'm not waiting a week so here they are a day late.
Also, notice something about Randall? The tail, its gone. He is molting. Is he older then I thought? When he first showed up he acted like a idiot hormonal teenager. He has tiny spurs. Molting, that is something I see my boys do when they are 1 1/2 years old at the earliest.

Hmmmm

Well hopefully he is past the dingaling stage in that case.

Awww he looks so strange without his tail!

I bet! And they are very strong I am told. And I bet they can use those tails like a whip!
My dad had an iguana named Eclipse before I was born (had to rehome it when my mom got pregnant with me— health and safety concerns, you know). He told me this story and I love telling it to other people

Eclipse was huge, about 6 feet long from snout to tail tip is I think what he told me, was allowed to roam the basement freely (and had his own enclosure of course), really big but really docile

One time, dad brought Eclipse over to a friend's house. Friend had a big rottweiler. Dad put Eclipse in friend's room and shut the door and told his friend to keep it shut. For the dog's safety. Friend laughs because his dog is massive but agrees

Some time later, friend forgets, door is left open. Dog comes rushing into the room to investigate. Eclipse rolls onto its side, brings its tail back, and cracks it like a whip across the dog's nose. The crack was audible. Rottweiler turns tail and runs out of the room screaming, had a big gash across his snout

Friend learned that iguanas don't **** around and so did the dog 😂

Nap time!

I
I have a question, how old is Mr. P?

I only ask this because with the sudden change in attitude between him and Bert I wonder if what you are seeing is a changing of the guard so to speak. Roosters, love them do have a teeny bit shorter lifespan then hens. All that testosterone wrecks their hearts. Bert could sense something we cannot detect about Mr. P. He could be trying to establish himself now as the dominate rooster.

Not to be mean, but the truth of the matter may be that if he would submit and let Bert take over he could have a easy retirement. Let Bert have the majority of the hens and responsibilities and those young one who pick on him.
If the lady I got him from was truthful than he is 3.5 yrs old - Same as my silkies.

His feet are not the best he has crooked toes and always has had that. This year his stride is not as good, which is why I give him some Tylenol from time to time, help with his feet.

He has been locked in the Summer House with his silkie ladies and usually Penelope or one of the other old ladies who need respite from the youngsters. Today it’s Sharpie, but I might put her and Red in there full time to keep them safe from Bert, and the two other young monsters.

When I am home he goes out with his ladies and any of the babies who want in with them. The rest all go out with Bert and Rosario goes out with Bert too.

Now that Mr LC has been chasing Mr P I am not sure what to do, he runs Rosario down constantly- I am afraid he will give himself a heart attack or run into something, not paying attention.

Rotten little monsters. Nothing but worry these Roos!
