I love having woods but our poor fence seems to just be getting beat up more and more every year. I actually saw the giant branch fall onto while checking on the chicks after it stopped raining. But beside for the couple places where branch or trees have fallen it is actually in pretty great shape for an almost 20 year old fence. View attachment 3948677
Ahhh ~ Nature! So idyllic. Just not sure I could trust it to keep chickens in or predators out?

Daisy (& her twin) are gorgeous! Not doubled laced barnvelder lacing but prettier IMO.
They are Hoover’s Americanas so not sure what they are crossing them with, but they lay blue and green eggs. And come in come in a variety of colours.

Also have beards and muffs usually.

Though Jaffarra supposedly is an Americana but she has a topknot! And no beard or muffs.

One of the butterbirds is much larger and darker orange than the other two, does that mean anything at 10 weeks? I see no red comb or wattles to scream "boy"

I don't think there are saddle feathers here?

Here are the two paler sisters

A bit of a comb

Middle is the orange BOrp with a paler sister to the right.

I kind of hope that at least two BOrps are distinct looking so I have an excuse to keep two for eggies. My rule is I need to be able to tell each chicken apart from a bit of distance in case I need to medicate one.

All three are in the background here, you can see the one in back is darker.

The birds don’t tend to go that far down into the woods (yet? My is backyard only around 1/3 an acre so it is probably only a matter of time.) and the 2 dogs seem to keep the raccoons, coyotes, and other predators from wanting to come check anything out.
