We always considered it good sense to use rental cars & add their rental insurance to the contract when traveling far. A deer ran straight into a rental we had & his antlers ripped the grill apart. Next morning the rental agency picked up the damaged rental & left us a new rental no questions asked .

Mealworms, the great equalizer. I sat out there for a half hour, scattered wormies and let the chickens do as chickens do.
Every single bird came close enough for me to get a good look at them, except for the four olive egger cockerels.
