So this dog bite everyone in their home and yet they managed too walk and restrain this dog without being bitten and your mother managed too untangle it without being hurt

These people are disgusting they have starved and neglected the poor creature. 🤔 The matted fur alone would have would made it reactive through the pain

Great pyrenesse from what little I know are valuable and very much wanted dogs, they are usually on farms kept to protect cattle and sheep

I've come across people online that own these dogs for their land and they are known to be very loyal when treated with respect as well as good training.

Could there any rescue near you that could assist you? I don't know your area. Maybe you could look one up near you 😉

People who treat animals this way should be treated in exactly the same way.

That remains to be seen, I'd be more afraid of the scum of the earth that abandoned him biting me.
Yes be very cautious but please keep an open mind

Please ask your Mother to seek information on this breed online. She sounds like a lady from my own heart ❤️
That is something I totally forgot about ~ pure breed dog rescue organizations. My DD's FIL rescues pure Basenji's ~ a rare type of breed that most people give up cuz they didn't research before buying the dog & find they can't handle the breed. There's got to be a pure Pyrenees rescue somewhere!

Good grief George, use what few brain cells you have please. I was letting Russ pick in the yard while his stall was being cleaned. George charged him as we walked by. I wish someone had videoed it as now that I look back on it, it was funny. In the heat of the moment I just knew he was going to get his head kicked off. He charged Russ and latched on to his tail. Russ just swished his tail and sent him flying :th. Did he learn, no...he kept trying to come back for more. I was having to block him with my foot and leg. Mom and Dad are rolling laughing yelling at me to let him learn the hard way. Yeah, I would like to have him not stomped into the ground thank you very much.

I think George is hitting his idiot phase and hormones are starting to ramp up. I could have a tiny terror on my hands for a while. Mom said he was protecting me from the horse. He came running and flew into my lap after Russ was put up. I foresee the next few months now saving George from himself.

At least mom likes George. She informed me he was going to be a better boy then Branch was. We had words after that comment :smack.
Oi boy, these cockerels are going to give both of us grey hair!

What a brat! I can just imagine Truly, she would have had a huge hissy fit! I keep her stall door closed when the chooks are in the barn.

Tonight Clyde thought he would try breeding one of the Buff Orps. Didn’t go well, he is too small, and not as agile as Mr LC. Poor Clyde got dumped in his butt.

Meanwhile Mr LC tried to breed Sue and not sure if he did the deed but he is sure good at backing up to try and find his target, and he finishes the deed by sliding down Sue’s wing like a slide 😆 I am going to have to get some video of this it’s just too funny!

They are wonderful chickens, different, but wonderful. 🥰
Seems silkies also sleep in strange ways too - Fluffy April 2024 - how do they not get a headache with their heads hanging?!

Silkies seem to do best sleeping flat floor dogpile style to avoid hanging head ~ which is why we never put up a mid-perch for them in the coop. They can fall asleep so soundly, fall off, & hurt their neck or open skull. Like Polish, Silkies are a different chicken altogether & altho being a chicken of a different sort they still want to do what other breeds do.

He allowed my Mom and me to a point to touch him. He did get reactive when my brother tried to cross the creek to help cut him loose. Dad was on Dirt so he never saw him or got close to him. He could very well be reactive to men due to some mistreatment. When he was a pup he got loose a few times. He came in the yard then and he never looked at the chickens. He just had no manners and would jump up on you. He still has no manners or leash training as he was jumping up on mom on the walk home. I walked him home myself 2 years ago and he was friendly towards me then. He is kept in their backyard. I hear him barking but unless I go snooping to see him I never see him so in truth I forget about him unless he is loose.

I'll tell you what he needs right now. His back half of his body, shaved, too matted to brush out. He needs flea treatment, he was filthy and full of flea dirt. Food obviously. I cannot tell you if he has ever saw a vet, honestly probably not so there is shots and everything else. He is also not neutered, that would need to be done. I will tell you right now it is cheaper to have a vet out for a farm call for the horses then it is to take a dog to the vet. Big dog, major ouch.

At a minimum, he would need a nexgaurd for fleas and ticks, his size that would be 2 of the maximum dose pills. Worming, shots, neutering, heartworm check and preventative. Our vet and his prices looking at $600 easily.

Then factor in some major fencing to keep him contained, training, and really does he like men? Does he like children? Skin and bones, I put him around 90lbs and he is still as strong as a ox. At a healthy weight, he should easily hit 140 for his size and build if not more.

For anyone he would be a major commitment. Could he be a good dog for someone? Maybe. Would he do better on a big farm with a job, yes that would be ideal I think. I just cannot get over hearing he has bitten several people. Personally, I feel if a dog bites, it should be put down.
Please read the replies we have be sending to you here. @Sylvester017 and others

There are "special breed rescues" and this breed of dog should have one.
You need to search online for them.

These are valuable working intelligent dogs
