Can you put some sort of a wrap around her hips, maybe crossing it over her back to loop in front of her wings, to help keep it stable so it can heal?

Yes I was fiddling around with her tonight trying to figure out something that would hold the limb snug but still allow her to flex the leg to sit down.

I’ll have to play around with some wraps this weekend. See what works. I’ll ponder it while I sleep

I meant to go out to take pine straw today but was also feeling under the weather. Planning to get up early and get some tomorrow.

We call that pine needles and this place is knee deep in the stuff I have a whole row of Red Pines and the big Pine tree they love hanging out under now, is a White pine and lots of needles under it. They have such a great time digging through those pine needles

And…. Your chooks smell pine fresh!

I was looking all over for a tamed roo, but couldn’t find one that didn’t have issues. I took it to The Lord, and looked on Craigslist. I found Sir. Jaffar in the gardening and livestock section. He lived right down the road from me across the river on a ranch where fighting cocks were raised. He had no ladies of his own there. I call it a blessed providence, that God had brought us together. He had a wonderful life right up until the end. He died protecting his ladies.
He was already named when I got him. He came to me as Jaffar, and left this world as Sir Jaffar, chosen by Queen Aurora as a knight of her majesty’s court. There is a whole written history here in Fluffy Butt Acres historical documents. Maybe I will share it again someday. It still hurts me greatly because he’s now gone.

I feel that the risk from song birds is likely minimal.

Now ducks and geese I would be freaked out about. I chase them away from my property. RC may wave to them but I yell at them
