Quirks I have noticed with my chooks:
1. CeeCee doesn’t like her beard touched
2. Aero wants to be the center of attention. And will lap jump if necessary.
My roo Mr. Wyandottey hates it when his feet are touched. He will bite me if I do that.
3. When the roosters are out and I am there, those idiots will try to show off and get mean. But if I observe them from inside the house they all get along peacefully

The roos are showing you how strong and brave they are! They want you to know they can protect the ladies, they just get carried away

Everyone slept well last night and the holes we drilled in the plastic coop helped a lot. I still left it empty with the nestbox door open to try to dry it even further before I put bedding in.

Yesterday Cookie was SO mad at me, because her favorite nest is in there and I locked her out. She kept hollering at me and pecking the door like "hey, open it up for me!" I showed her the other nests and she just grumbled off back to the plastic coop.
She did lay in the raised nests at some point, she and Nocturne left me eggs this morning.

Cream the adorable. She's only just bigger than the bantams.

Versace snazzy lad. His tail is as straight as I think it was before, it did always drift to one side.

We're thinking Peregrine (perry!) Or Kestrel for this girl. Kiddo wanted her to also be named Shiba-san, or Fenix, or Biscuit. I told her that names have to be different!

Dad gave me pine+oak shavings from the stable doors he's working on. The birds love it, I dumped it on all the soggy mushy spots.

I have never use hardwood shavings as there have been serious issues with the use of them in hoofed animals. Black walnut causes serious founder issues in horses.

And I know that there are those who say don’t use shavings with babies, I have always used them with no issues.

And then there are the ones who say never use cedar.

I have used pine and cedar always and never had any issues.

My favourite bedding is the natural ground that I don’t have to clean up! Hahaha

Some interesting notes for wood shavings use:

He looks great! Glad his tail is straighter.

My favorite bedding is a combination of silk sheets, parachute silky blankets and a heavy duty wool comforter for my bed. Oh you probably meant for the chooks? ..sorry, my bad
