This is second straight day the ladies have been living in their coops. Yesterday was windy and cold, today it is snow.

Oooo and a funky topknot! What a cutie!

I am really enjoying my wee OEGB bantams - they are so cute and very friendly. Mrs LC loves to snuggle and would love to just curl up in my hand and sleep I am really impressed with them.

My hope is that Mr LC doesn’t start fighting with Mr P. He has been taking on Clyde who has beat the crap out of the poor wee fella - he is even tiny compared to Clyde the silkie cockerel

I adore your pics & property! It's amazing the way it's got nature decor, lots of hiding places, & things for chickens to do! Forgive me if mentioned before but do you have hawk problems & how/if you solved the problem if any?

The hawks sail up the valley watching the fields for mice and rabbits. The roos sound alarms as do the magpies. The crows alert and chase the hawks off. Then there's the pigeons nesting in the abandoned shed in the next acreage. And there's no run for the birds to get cornered in. Downside: foxes and dogs.

In the Spring I am sure you will get more lovely chooks. You should look at Hoovers and see what they have. I think you said you had a Midnight Majesty Marans right? Those are Hoovers birds. So you feed store sources from them.

I bet you would be able to order in whatever you want

It’s a good thing I can’t order in what I want from Hoovers !
