All the older ladies, BIL and Cousin’s hens are all getting up there, not laying at all. They are pretty much retired.
Imagine my shock at seeing Fluffy waiting at the barn door at 8pm when I went up to do chores one evening!I count 12 chooks,but I count them at least three times per count to be sure I don’t miss any, and lock them out of the coop at night.

Just wipe them off with a damp cloth.I hadn’t realized until recently that was the kind of heater you have.
I just have a small flat panel that is up by the main roost so they can keep their face (or fluffy butt) warm if need be.
It really doesn’t give out much heat.
I do worry about fire though because mine are so terribly dusty.

She still is limited in her movement, lays around a lot, but she continues to move more than she used to even as recent as the summer. She even fly/ran about a week ago. It was thrilling to see.How is Hattie doing? Looking good in that picture.
