I couldn’t stand it anymore. My two worst molting birds are now in my house, having steak and eggs for breakfast too. Poor Coco is a mess, and Dakota isn’t looking very happy either. It’s look, feed and admire, but don’t touch day for these two! image.jpg

Our Silky roo is as tough as they come. He's whipped many roosters and has survived fights with our older roos. I'll get a pic when I go back outside.
Branch was the same. He was such a good daddy but you can bet when the young boys became hormonal he would whip them into shape. Bubba who was easily 3 times his size was subordinate to him. I saw Branch's moves many times first hand, he was a ninja chicken. When he got into a scrap he played his size to his advantage. He would duck the offending roosters kicks and then land on top of them to beat then. I never worried about him until Twig corned Branch in the back of the coop and was clobbering his dad. He had nowhere to turn to fight back or escape. If I had not been out there I would have lost Branch before I did.

But I miss Twiggy! :hit

I’m going to name the chook that comes over to visit every day.
I think Nacho is a perfect name, because I have to remind myself that it’s Not - Cho bird, it belongs to the Mexican family next door.
Can you keep her? I mean ask them and see if they will let you keep her ♥️

I just narrowly escaped a disaster with Turkey. She got tangled up in Poppets feet feathers. I got her loose, she seems ok and is up drinking and eating great. She could not have been stuck long, maybe less then a minute. I assume Poppet was sitting down with Turkey under her and Turkey got stuck when she heard me round the house with a snack.

Turkey is a week old today. Just when I thought I could relax something happens.
