2 EGGS!!!! It is a 2 egg day today!!

I think it could be Squirrels egg. Heavy bloom and pinkish. Squirrel's has looked like those in the past. It is either hers or after only a week Judy is laying again.

It has been 4 or 5 weeks since I have gotten 2 eggs in one day. I now have 16 saved up. Perfect timing. My brother brought home a case of lemons from work. 2/3rds are good after we went through them. Have a huge dishpan overflowing. So far we are thinking lemon pound cake and lemon curd.

I remember my father saying the same thing, he fuming at the time myxomatosis was hitting rabbits as well

It's hard. All we can do is remember them fondly.

I felt the same way when I cleaned up the blue and white fake eggs the other day. Who knows if I'll ever have another blue layer now that Glynda is gone and well Phyllis is missed every day.

They are locked in the complex right now. There is no egg laying going on anywhere these days.

We have an Orloff Breeder in west MI I believe. Q's quirky cluckers. They have some rare birds!

On Facebook Q's featured their rare Olandsk Dwarfs today. Cute original landrace bantam that has no standard size version. Years ago I considered them but they are good flyers & I would lose them over our wall.

Those Russian breeds are gorgeous but w/o knowing too much about these gamey birds I don't think I'd chance mixing them w/ barnyard chickens/layers. The gamey birds are usually known for low egg production too. But, boy, can't beat them as "eye candy".
