They look like a lively breed. Probably good in snow country if they can handle German snow conditions.I was looking for Appenzeller Spitzhauben up here but couldn’t find any.

I don't think deathlayers are quite the same as production birds? I could be wrong. I know they lay a lot of eggs and keep laying up until they die, no "henopause"... But I'm not sure if it's an egg a day sort of deal. Several a week at least. But I think there's much more careful breeding that goes into deathlayers than standard production birds (Again, might be wrong. I read about them months ago, lots of info has probably leaked out my ears since thenDo you REALLY want a Deathlayer? I would think they are like production birds w/ short lifespans & laying issues? Never heard of a Zombie ~ what breed mix is that? I'm learning so much about new breeds from you!
She hides the remote from me, I have no choice in the matterOur birds get KUSC classical music or KKLA sermon talks & nothing else ~ no rock, no metal, no oldies goodies either or I'd go crazy myself. I don't need metal head-tossing Silkies!
It's hard sometimes to figure out why our birds nestle themselves at our door ~ the talking? just companionship? just a nice safe place to rest & digest a crop? a place where a treat gets tossed? hopefully cuz they luv us?I still miss the KUSC. We only have the rock stations here. I ended up buying my music from thrift stores.
My chickens usually don't get music though. If I have them out, I've noticed that some of them will come and sit by my door to listen to what I'm listening to.
I can always hatch a few extras for you if you want. Or if you want birds he's charging $15 each I think?PRETTY CHICKIES! Maybe I'll have to tag along
I love Africa. Every time it comes on the radio I feel happy![]()
That's something to keep in mind... We need to make room for more birds before anything, and I'm not sure if dad will want to get any more for a couple years yet. We'll see!!I can always hatch a few extras for you if you want. Or if you want birds he's charging $15 each I think?
WGRD is great! So is Blue Lake Public Radio. I have a soft spot for classical music because it's easy on my hearing loss.Dad and I listen to the radio all day in the garage so our girls get to listen to anything from new rock to 90s rock to classic rock... Uhh, we mostly listen to rock hereand metal, but they don't really play that on the radio! At least, not the harder stuff. There's some Slipknot occasionally. WGRD is our go-to station.
I'd have them bopping along to ABBA if my dad didn't hate them so much HAHAHA! And some older country.
Deathlayers live on average 5-8 years, same as most heritage breeds.Do you REALLY want a Deathlayer? I would think they are like production birds w/ short lifespans & laying issues? Never heard of a Zombie ~ what breed mix is that? I'm learning so much about new breeds from you!
Now that’s something to think about while I’m showering in the bathroom .WGRD is great! So is Blue Lake Public Radio. I have a soft spot for classical music because it's easy on my hearing loss.

Zombie is leghorn and ayam cemani. They are autosexing as first generation males do not have black skin.

Why would they not take your insurance?Me too! Before I finally found a dentist that takes my insurance I used to have nightmares of losing my teeth all the timeNOT FUN! I still have those dreams occasionally but it was almost nightly for a while there!
