Silkies have longer lifespans than standard or production breeds. One of our Silkies lived over 11 yrs & even our cancer Silkie lived over 6 yrs so at age 80 I don't want to add more birds. If DH outlives me he can decide what kind of chickeneering to do afterwards. So sad to get old. Yesterday we were newlyweds & today we're an old arthritic couple!

TY for asking. The arm is no longer braced & just needs therapy according to Doc. My elbow has been in a sling for so many months it resists straightening out. The stitches are so ugly but Doc says they look good

Yep getting old is not for the faint of heart.
I aim to be one of those cranky old ladies who says anything to anyone, I’ll walk around with my cane and tell youngsters off for being rude. Cough and hork and sniffle…. All the things that I can think of to make people move out of the way in the check out lane at the store….
