Caturday.
I originally posted this on Ribh's thread, but figured I'd post it here as well.
Feral cat in the backyard. He has claimed one part of the yard for himself. (I think it's a he).

He made a hideout under some sawhorses and pieces of wood covered by a blue tarp. I'm not gonna bother him too much since it seems like a cozy shelter.

And yet even when he has other Roos to help out, he just fights - and ignores the hens!

He only has eyes for the silkies - and Betty (I was a bit cringing seeing him with her the first time…. 😳).

Oh and Blanche and Sophia. Seems he likes the older girls. Smart Roo! He will herd them away from the younger ones. He thought he might pick another hen when Penelope died but nope. I feel he is eyeing the Dumplings as future herd mates - this morning he was prancing around for Holly 😳😳😳

She was wanting nothing to do with him! If he accepts the dumplings (all assuming they are fillies) that will give him a herd of mostly silkies. Mrs LC wants nothing to do with Mr LC, she only has eyes for Mr. P.

:barnie

Not that I want to breed her but Mr P just about squashes her when he tries to breed her! I am going to have to separate her from him I guess. But I worry about her with Shirley.
Those are serious management problems with which Mr. Pompeii is not helping. If only the chickens would help you. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Five years ago today, I brought home my first chicks! Three black Australorps (Little, Middle, and Lark) who are still here and laying every now and then.

Lark made the first noise, and was named first. Little was the smallest of them. Middle was "in the middle" of the huddle. The only baby pictures I have of them are taken with the red heat lamp on, making them essentially useless.
Congratulations! What a great day to remember! :clap :clap
