It’s calling for freezing rain, rain and snow here starting tomorrow late afternoon. The chooks may get a bit of time outside tomorrow, but o am betting all weekend they will be inside.

Miserable winter followed by a miserable Sprimg.

I just got dumped with snow, I think it's almost six inches by now. The cats are having trouble getting through it and since the chickens get a covered run they are still happy with the weather (it's not very cold, but there's a lot of snow). Purrcules is warming up on my front mat right now, he was all snowy.

Still needs shorter legs? What does the pattern use for those overly long legs ~ wires, pipe cleaners? This bird is cute but passes as a mix rather than a Silkie Even the tummy needs more fluff. Of course this Silkie all depends on whether it's for real life or comedic value?

I would say it is more a caricature of the chicken not a real life representative. I like the snipped loops - I love the wild look

It's supposed to be simplified. I could do less rounds on the legs to shorten them, but the maker designs her patterns to be kind of a folk art style.

3rd picture down, oh it is bringing back the memories. I cannot do a 4th rooster, but, the urge is there to take a road trip. Now that is a example of a young BCM cockerel. He is giving Bubba vibes. Without even seeing him from the front I can already tell you he is a wide little dude and will be built like a brickhouse as a adult. His hackle markings are already coming in as well. Is he one that is just 4 weeks old as well? If so in the next 2 weeks his copper coloring will start appearing along his shoulders and back. Look at the feet, very nicely feathered feet. I like this chick.....I want this chick. If you do not keep him, someone on here needs to get him so we can watch him grow up. Yes @RoyalChick I'm looking at you. He could backcross with Tassels to make 2nd generation olive eggs. He would produce Olive eggers with calypso and the legbar girls.

He's going to be a great little dude. And yes, if anyone wants to drive out for him I'd be willing to let him go to a new home.

What if you crocheted a silkie out of mohair or angora yarn?

That would be so fuzzy! I was thinking of using faux fur yarn to make one too.

Yay, it's raining! The high today is 70⁰F. Perfect temps for the hoomans and the chookies!

I saw on the News this morning, that system is headed this way for tonight giving me freezing rain (in Newfoundland it’s called glitter ), and other areas up to 25cm of snow!

Then Saturday night a system from the States move up and more freezing rain/glitter and snow!

The chooks are gonna be mad! I hear the squawking already…

My cat is a princess she won’t even look at snow, the horses I’ll probably keep inside, freezing rain is the only thing I will keep them in for.

Woah, now hang on a second here. Just days ago this type of behavior was deemed "Not normal chicken behavior" and excluded Barbosa as being a "real" chicken.

Now which is it? Is he a gremlin like Barbosa or is he a real chicken. Depending on your answer Barbosa could also become a real chicken.
