Well, the babies would not all be Nacho's eggs anyway. They would be eggs from all your hens. She is the one who sat on them last and hatched them out. One of your other hens must have kept them warm when Nacho was taken out of your yard.

There’s been a misunderstanding. The neighbor didn’t take Nacho from my yard, because she was busy hiding and hatching her babies. Also, I have had positive results from my other birds about the new chicks hatching here at my place.

Rosie has been laying very large eggs, not always this heavy, but still big.

Good afternoon everyone.

Today is a rough day and one with mixed emotions.
It is dad's birthday but it is proving so hard to feel up to celebrating. Today also marks 1 year that Grandma passed away and it hit hard as soon as I woke up. I think about her all the time. So much has happened in the last year that she would have loved. She never got to see George. She wanted a polish before her mind finally slipped. She would love the silkies I have accumulated and already have pushed me to have the incubator up and running and full of their eggs. My yard is full of the "wild" greens that she so loved I do not know why but I have had the urge to pick a mess full. I'm also setting myself up for a fight with the chickens but I brought several of her planters home last weekend. They are ready to go and by Tuesday will be full of black seeded simpson lettuce and green onions. That was one of our favorite meals in the late spring early summer, "Kilt" or wilted Lettuce and onion salad with fresh piping hot cornbread. It has been awhile since I have had a "bad" day. Today I'm having a bad day and I feel exactly how I felt a year ago.

So sorry. Grief takes such a long time.

Oh, I see. So much info flies by on this thread that I miss a lot of it I think. Well, that is such great news that Nacho has never left the yard or her eggs/babies.
