rural mouse can explain the genetics & yes there is such a Silkie as Dark Partridge ~ it will have a gold collar & gold wingtips but full grown most of the black feathers overtake covering up the pretty gold feathers.

Here are our two Dark Partridge chicks that grew out almost all shiny black. They were sold by Amber Waves Silkies and Buckaboo Farms,

Adult hen feathers totally different but if they turn their head or stretch their neck the gold collar reveals. The gold wingtips show a little when they flap their wings.

Dark partridge is only something I've encountered in your silkie colors. In other birds (at least as adults) I'd say it's black with leakage. If they start out as chipmunk colored chicks, it's totally outside my current genetics understanding....hence the rabbit hole.

However, DH and kid dropped me at work today and went off to get a new washing machine. My research rabbit hole tonight involves finding all the instructions as the paper booklet just has all the safety warning stuff and nothing else.
