She's finally figured out the outdoor nesting boxes. Hopefully this will tone down the fights over The Chosen Box.

There are three outdoor boxes and three indoor boxes. I directed her to the box next to the one Felicitas uses. Felicy hates anyone touching her box.

Ok everyone, have a lovely evening; I am off to do chores. Also check on poor old Red, I guess someone pecked her and her comb bled like crazy. I saw some specks of blood on the straw and thought Mr P had been pecked again but he was fine, as everyone was stampeding out the door I saw Red’s left side of her head was just soaked in blood.

Of course I freaked out, I grabbed her up and ran into the feedroom to try an clean her up and see where the injury was. I though someone might have pecked her in the eye. But once I cleaned her up a bit I saw it was her comb.

Anywhoooo she is now on ‘stall rest’ (a term we use with horses kept in a stall to heal from an injury) I’m the large crate the dumplings have been sleeping in at night; the down side of her nightly dose of aspirin is that it acts like an anticoagulant, so she is off the aspirin until she has healed up fully. I’ll give her some Tylenol for her arthritis, and just hope the best for any cardiovascular issues she may have.

And then when I hauled off Truly’s blanket tonight I saw she has some sort of sore on her side. I picked the hair away and it was a darn tick the site was inflamed and oozing, so I plucked the tick out and gave it a spray of Blue-Kote. Guess I will have to start spraying the horses with bug spray now.

Never a dull moment with these kiddos.

Good night everyone!
