I think Alex meant sunflower seedsSafflower? Where do you get them...
Look as if I was wrong @Sylvester017My local feed store has safflower seeds and other seeds too.
The mill has a multitude of varieties of seeds.
I hope you can soak that foot I Epsom salt and vinegar.Coco’s foot is hurting again today.
Poor lady is limping around, but she won’t let me catch her until after dark tonight.
I don't need anything deleted. I just want to maintain a chicken focus.Just say so if you want me to delete my comment in the discussion?
More photos to compensate.

Pretty Periwinkle
She is not someone who draws attention to herself. She moves through the day without controversy or significant achievement so she does not find herself the center of attention much. Hence, fewer photos. She is a real beauty and really the current stabilizing force in the tribe. She is also likely the next in line should something happen to Aurora as Hattie cannot lead when she does not move around a lot.I have said this before, but we do not see enough of her!
No worries. It can happen.I'm sorry, I didn't realize GMO was a political or hot topicOff topic in this instance but I didn't know it would make anyone angry.
So cuteTwo fluffy buts I get to soak, trim, and blow dry each year. Just finished these up yesterday.
I have been seriously thinking about starting a log with the injuries and treatments I have dealt with. Both with the chooks and geegees,
In reality there isn’t really much difference in the horses or the chooks when one is overseeing to their well-being. Every morning I assess them all to ensure they are upright and mobile, and eating. So you can bet. Was freaking out at 4:30 this morning when truly kept going down in the stall. Not normal. She seems ok now - have think her hips and back arthritis is acting up.
And then last night when I got home and started my ‘inspection’ of the chooks and the barn and say the blood droplets you can bet that put me on high alert! Poor Red - she seems ok today.
And then Curly doing that gasping on the barn cam - sheesh! It’s a wonder I am not full of grey hair!
It’s all about noticing small things and taking an extra second to just watch quietly. It’s the same as it was when I was a Nurse - quietly watching and seeing what’s normal and then assessing for any changes to that.
This how parents know when their kids are up to something![]()
