11 out of 22 eggs have hatched so far. I finally have 2 solid blacks. The first 7 are happily in the brooder. They are nibbling around and figuring out how to eat. I have not gotten to really drink yet, just a droplet down each one when I showed them their water source. I'm not worried, they are good for the first 72 hours honestly. I know when the first one really starts drinking the rest will copy and follow suit.

I'm heartbroken to report I have lost the smallest of the 2 partridge chicks. I know to expect to loose a chick or two the first few days but this was sudden.

Woke up and had to sneek a peak. Turned the candling light on to hopefully have less of a shocking effect, the rest is my cameras night mode.

Both are from blue eggs. Welcome, littles.

Oh no! So sorry to hear this. So hard when they pass away suddenly.

Chick Update
I started this at around 10 AM, so my apologies for the delay. It has been quite a busy and hectic day. As requested by @Ponypoor, I decided that you all deserve a chick update. I mean, why not. I won't gatekeep how the chicks are doing.
I will say my health hasn't gotten much better. Every morning, I wake up feeling nauseous (I haven't thrown up) and lately, I've had a slight headache. It doesn't bother me too much but I can't tell if it's a headache or lightheadedness. I just drank turmeric mixed with water. Huge mistake. I can't just keep taking Tums and Tylenol. My education is important, so staying at home is not an option. And yes, I have been sleeping well.

I hope you can combat this problem.

An operation was needed for me after taking medications. So I had no other options other than to find as many alternatives as I possibly could.

Tumeric is good for pain but I would be trying ginger or peppermint tea for the nausea. I drink ginger Tumeric and cloves tea occasionally and find that helps

So continuing with the little chicks, here they are now. I still can't decide what their names should be. For the Andalusian, I have either Charcoal, Raven or Footsie and for the Americana, I have Blondie or Shakira.

Moving on to the older chickens, look at these two troublemakers, thinking they can just go on the sidewalk, make a mess and get away with it. Have you learned nothing?

I didn't really talk much about the little chicks since not much seemed to happen, but I'll discuss more tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

I put all the kids away into the coop/run. But I opened the run door for the integration process to begin! Only one little chick was scared to be with the rest. Now it’s time to start naming these beauties. This one only wants to be with me!View attachment 4118565
