@BY Bob
Periwinkle would like to submit her beard for consideration by HRH Aurora. She knows she's only half chicken but she is hoping that her feathers are beautiful enough to qualify for her approval.
Queen Aurora says she is of to a good start. However she needs to keep working on her beard and must. Aurora recommends more spicy food, specifically left over taco meat. 🌮

But… (hesitantly says) what if our diets have spicy food anyway? And by the way my Roo Wyandottey saw your Royal picture and almost fell off my arm seeing you. Please understand that we are only peasants, and in the sight of royalty, your picture caught us totally off guard.. please forgive :bow
And this roo does have a large ranch, access to a car, an aero plane and he’s the cock of the walk with his other ladies x16. He wanted me to mention that, incase you were curious. 🧐 IMG_5331.jpeg

I sadly did not catch the shrink wrapped chick in time. It passed away within a hour of me getting it out of the shell. I'm so sorry little one. The rest appear healthy and strong but I know it is still very early. 3 days old, I can stop holding my breath, if they make it a week I can relax.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Try not to blame yourself so much. :hugs :hugs :hugs

I think I know how. I did once get a trial run in a bigger excavator from a friend who does rental equipment.
I nearly pitched into the hole I was digging because I forgot to put the stabilizing feet out. But this one looks much simpler.
Sadly however they came back and are still using it.
It is nearly dark and I suspect they have lights on the big truck so will probably stay and finish.

Do what I do - chat them up and throw in a hint about needing to move some dirt, look all helpless, and I am sure they will offer to move some wood chips. Then to cap it off offer them fresh bread cookies and tea (or coffee) when they finish helping!

Our Power line guys are great - they cut down down some trees for me and have me a load of wood chips for the garden. They were trimming trees and I mentioned my Poplars were worrying me about falling on the lines. Down came my trees!

Couple of fluffy butts for this chilly Friday
