One of the marans. All of my marans are black, I was hoping for a splash or cuckoo. Oh well, they're very classy.

The bitties having a ton of fun! Their coop is a jungle gym

Twofer! 11 week olds Pearl and Maude are almost equally snuggly. It looks cute but Maude is competitive and is trying to sit on Pearl to get all my love😅

Happy Tuesday Folks!
Stripes are snuggly, aren't they?! Our Dominiques were great for lap time & conversations too.

You have done a GREAT job - and what a lot of work that is/was - especially lugging all that sand!👍👍. I do hope you end up liking the sand - and will be curious about your thoughts throughout the year (i.e. summer versus winter)

The laugh was for that last bit - the Silkies looking mystified as to how and why the SFH take flight so easily & often!!!:idunno:lau:idunno:lau:idunno

It almost sounds like SFH and Leghorns have a bit in common! 🥰 🥰
It’s an experiment and I can get construction sand quite cheaply so it’s worth a shot. I will relay my experience with it for sure. If it doesn’t work out I will move it to the run so it will not go waste either way.

The SFH’s have a long wing span in comparison to their bodies. I am betting once not confined by the tent they will fly fairly well (for chickens). Based on BYBobs description of the Leghorns, they do sound very similar in personality, your right! They are curious, smart and full of good mischief making.

The Silkies are like their polar opposite. I would swear they shake their heads at the SFH’s antics on a regular basis.
