She broke her leg?! When did that happen? How did that happen?!

She broke her toe, I left it alone, after all the time she stepped on it wrong, broke her ankle and was enough of it for me. I took her to Orange County to a veterinarian to set her leg. At least she got a free flight out of the ordeal. That’s two chickens who got to fly without using their wings. I used mine instead. They better start laying eggs to pay for it!!!

Ok glad she is ok then, Muffy’s bumble foot has returned - I have her on antibiotics and some aspirin- this weekend I’ll see about soaking it and dressing it.

Oh and Clyde is still on the prednisone - his breathing is doing better. I will start weaning him off it tomorrow. I am tempted to see if they can have Ventolin - I can give him a puff from my puffer I can’t be any worse than what Sally did!

You did the right thing. I know how you feel, been there also.

I am dreading if I ever have to deal with another sick dying chook. A vet would be extremely expensive for me to have one euthanized. Not fair

I made an egg omelette with eggs today, with fresh guacamole . Every one of those eggs were fertile. Bullseye from Mr Wyandottey. Most depressing meal I have ever eaten. But the eggs were cracked and that’s the end of that.

Do not think that way, we all have a purpose, even the lowly mosquitoes are important - their larva are food for baby fish.

Our chooks are our most valued possession they are not only our pets and companions, but they also provide us with food. They are indeed golden.
