Sooooo - I came ‘this close’ to getting 4 Black Mottled d’Uccles pullets - I couldn’t resist! But, alas, I missed out on them someone had already purchased them. Just as well, right now is not a great time for me to get any more pets.

But my neighbour up the road has a bunch of silver laced polish chicks - I think coming a month old. Maybe I’ll get a couple of those - see if she can hold them at her place for a bit. Till they are grown, it’s just a thought but we will see. Things are a bit Topsy-turvy at the moment, don’t need to be over extending myself!!!

But oh I would love a couple of these lovelies!

I actually am really surprised. I've never had any chicks figure it out this quickly on their own.

Hopefully it continues all week. If so, they will get yard privileges.

My wee ones like the outdoors so much, I have been having to round them up every evening to get them back into the coop I built for them to stay safe. They clearly would prefer to stay in the run outside.

Glad your girls are smart cookies, if they could send some common sense to Ohio I would be grateful!

Well the only reason I would have bought those d’Uccles was because they were pullets and older.

Oh I just love that silver laced polish hen in that photo. She’s the one that went ‘scenic-ing’ one night from my neighbour few houses up. My next door neighbour thought she was one of mine. But knew who it likely was.
