Niamh was trying to remove my wedding ring the other day. They do love shiny things.

My friend lost the Diamond in her engagement ring - one of her hens pecked it and it broke!

We weren’t sure if it fell in the bedding or the chook ate it. But it was a goner - the Diamond not the chook. I did suggest we put a diaper on her, try to get the stone… my friend was ready to put her in the oven hahaha.

Never did get the stone back and the chook lived a hood long life.

Both of us made a pact to never tell her husband

That horse loves her chooks she is very tolerant of them. Truly like them but isn’t as tolerant of them stealing her food!

You all have probably noticed by now, that I wear the same blue shirt in most of the pictures I take.
That’s my indoor chicken shirt.
Kinda like Mr. Rogers sweater and sneakers (except for the poop)
The kids love to peck at the buttons!

No judgement from me. You know my ‘barn uniform’, I’ll soon be able to swap the mucker shoes for running shoes. If it ever warms up!

Sitting here on the lawn chair watching the chooks, but it’s a bit chilly, the wind is cold. Mr P is enjoying time with his older ladies, they are digging up everything it seems! I’ll need to put a board along the bottom of the fencing there to prevent them from getting at my peas, beans and tomatoes.

The leggy girls are all very happy. Dream in the back is so stinkin shy though!!!

Marble has been digging food out from the side of the feeders, so I decided to give him a bowl full. I'm certain he bokked out a "thank you" as he ate! But...one side of his poof is broken feathers, darn those pullets are pulling a Mr. P on him!

Blue Velociraptor (kiddo is insisting on using both her names) has quite the comb flop going.

Today is a outside work day. Planted 3 deck pots: 2 colors of petunias and an assortment zinnias. Also weedwacked the patio bed, excavated part and planted a lupine. Then had to fence it as Whiskey was encouraging the ladies to dig around it in the freshly turned dirt.

Cleaned and filled hummingbird feeders, 1 hung on new railing hook, others awaiting longer arms to go up (DS Will be hanging them later today around the patio)

Refilled the scratch bin and they got a handful as the gathered outside the door to watch. Checked the location of Sherlock's ball as it rolled off the deck while planting. Need the throwing stick to retrieve it as it bounced into the nook behind the wood pile.

The hung feeder has already been found as a bird whizzed away when I headed back inside.
