Isn’t it wonderful?
Feels cold!!

Tax; I can’t put my finger on the issue but I am a bit worried about Piglet. She felt the heat more than the bigger girls (strange) and is a bit ‘off’ today. Hope she will be OK.

Hoping it rains here soon. It’s so so hot.
No, he died.
I am so sorry 😞 fly high Breezy
Red is very poorly, I fear she won’t have long for this world. Sophia is not herself either. And poor Marty is moulting, Twister also.

Seems the heat has exasperated the ladies maladies. It’s nice to have it chilly here but I fear the extreme swings in temps are just as bad as the heat - it’s 15C (58F). What is with this crazy weather?
Oh goodness, the heat is so stressful, I do hope Red makes it through.
Good night all, horses can stay inside tonight, it’s cool and drizzly, I don’t like Truly outside at night when the ground is muddy, she has a hard time getting up when she falls down with the slippery mud.

Might have to partially close the Hen House ‘A’ window that wind is blowing drizzly damp wind into the roosts.

Enjoying the cool damp evening

Group selfie, turned out pretty cute.
This photo need to be in a contest. It’s cute, funny, and sweet all at once.

Red is incredibly old for a production breed, she’s a Sex-link, I would say she is 7. My mum calls her the dying hen, poor Red has been really fragile for about 2 years. I am totally surprised she has lived this long.

So very happy to hear of improvements, our pets are bound to give us grey hair!
Yes indeedy!
I hope not 😞

You're a great chicken Mama ❤️

She might just want to stay with you with that luxury set up 😀
Sadly, I am pretty sure it is one of those two things. I told her if she had to get into trouble she picked a good time, as she is completely avoiding the heat wave. She is a good houseguest though, so no worries. It takes as long as it takes, if she is fighting so am I. ;)
Speed is the number 1 skill right now.
That wasn't too bad but later I had to intervene and that was bad. I'm giving them today seperate and then tomorrow the fence comes down. We are pulling the bandaid off. I will be there to supervise but they are going to be mixing it up all day.
Speed will be their friend for sure. I have only been through integration without a mama hen one time and it was rough. Drama lots of drama.

I will keep my fingers crossed that your babies come through with just their pride hurt a bit and that the feather loss is minimal.
