Okay so internet says wry neck. I got the selenium orange goo and gave each girl a tiny bit. The other chickens have been spending time with them, just now it was Delft who did not want to go to bed, she wanted to stay.

The medicine I was told to give them.
Get better soon chickies! Poor things!

"It's like being at a fireworks stadium in our 4th of July neighborhood 🎇 w/ car alarms sounding from the non-stop loud bombs! This must be what a war zone is like! Dana & 3 Silkies went into the coop early but poor Betta & Ginny were running around the yard & jumping at every blast & flashing aerial display. DH is not home due to puppysitting at DD's home so I tried calming the 2 littles w/ some seed treats then scooped them up to put in the pen. They ran straightway up the ramp into the coop. The noise & firecrackers will go all thru the night into morning so the coop is some refuge I hope. Times like this one hopes none will have a stroke! Betta has been laying but w/ this stress the little sweetie may stop 🙁.

So sorry to hear this, similar here also on Canada Day, and Victoria Day. Hope they are ok.

So here's a Friday (un)fluffy butt from Gytha!

The 8th (or 9th?) of this month will mark one year since I started my chicken journey... I've learned so much, and met so many great people here on BYC and especially this thread. You've all been helpful, welcoming, kind, and so fun to chat with! Thank you for everything you've done for me so far, I love you all, and I'm looking forward to many more years of chickens with you!! 🧡💚💙
Happy Hatchday everyone. I love a Hatchday party! 🎈 🎈 🎈 🎈 🎈 🎈

We are grateful that you joined us here. We are all the better for knowing you.

Good afternoon everyone.

We found out yesterday that the diner was going to be closed today and tomorrow giving us a 3 day weekend.

It was last minute but mom decided to take Grandpa to Maryland. He has not been back up there since 2021 when his last brother died. The covid restrictions were still in place then and no one was allowed to get out of the cars at the cemetery. That has really bothered grandpa as he was buried beside his mom and dad. He has also been saying the last 2 years he was wanting to take a drive over into West Virginia to show us where he was born and grew up until he was 12. He also wanted to stop by the cemetery where his grandparents were buried.

We just have not had the time, and or the money to drop everything and go when he has brought it up. They left at 8 am this morning. Me and Rosie were also welcome to tag along but we chose to stay home. Mom deserves to spend some one on one time with her dad. Grandpa's health is starting to fail and she needs this.

I now have a 3 days weekend with nothing to do and no one to try to make plans for me. Well, besides Rosie who is wanting to go down to the 2 day horse show at the barn tonight and tomorrow. That's ok, we had been planning on heading down anyway after I got off work each night.

After they left this morning and I got the chickens taken care of, I sat in the recliner to watch tv and just woke up. Best nap I've had in a while. I have half a sink full of dishes waiting on me from the breakfast I fixed for grandpa while waiting on mom to get ready this morning. I get them done, afternoon nap until it is time to head down this evening.

My plans for tomorrow, absolutely nothing. Sitting with the chickens and or napping.

Rosie has been warned, absolutely no one, not one person is allowed to come up to stay this weekend.

Happy 4th of July my friends. I hope you all have a great weekend with your family and friends.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend for everyone. 👍

Yeti has developed the droopies too. Those girls are my bug hunters, could it be firefly poisoning? Both lethargic, drooping head and closed eyes, slightly open beaks. Will seperate them as soon as I can get a crate set up
I wouldn't want to say at this point. I would certainly isolate the 2 as soon as I could.

Good morning Bob, and everyone.

Calling for another heat alert here, the past 2 days have been really nice for the animals. It looks like this will be a hot steamy summer here.

Daisy's mum is coming to visit at 10 this morning, I'll give then a couple dozen eggs also (will dig out all of Daisy's eggs for them); I hope they are happy with how she is getting on here.

Everyone have a splendid Saturday

They are both getting old now, poor Marty is moulting which is a good time of the year to do so.
