Did they actually wade into the water? We’re going to provide a wading pool tomorrow, but I’m REALLY skeptical.

Dakota has done it once again. She has managed to con me into bringing her inside for the afternoon. She doesn’t do well with heat obviously and it’s kinda hot outside. She’s not a bother so it’s okay. But she’s an expert at MANipulation!

Thirsty Thursday
Aster is very smart. She has figured out that when I bring snacks out, I start with the big girls under the magnolia tree. Then I take the Phyllistines their treat.

She knows that she can scare the Phyllistines off and take their portion of the treat without having to share with the big girls.

Today it was 1/2 tomato. Here she is enjoying the Phyllistine's tomato. She started out drinking the tomato juice, for Thirsty Thursday, and then started eating it. Here is some video.

Fear not everyone. I distracted Aster and got her to come back to the magnolia tree so the Phyllistines could eat their tomato.

My son pretending to magically float a caterpillar, to cute

Pebble looking fabulous but also completely oblivious as to the location of his entire flock who had gone to roost for the evening. Both of the SFH Roos tried to come get him but he just kept on pecking and scratching. I had to go get him in and this is why supervision for free ranging is likely to remain necessary

Hmmm - it’s all about respect - they respect me and I them. And trust. All they have know is safety security food and routine. It’s not magic it’s just spending time with them.

The more time one spends with them the more they learn their cues. And they learn my cues.

Heck girl, I’m all the way down in California, and I learn your cues!!
