I'll start trying it out and see what he thinks.
The Riddick movies are the only gory thing I watch! I just love them though, reminds me of playing space d&d games.

D&D games...DH has been playing since the first version w/ the plastic multi-sided dice ~ that's how old we are:old.

Some of our old D&D motley crew of players. Good way to have family fun & still have backyard chickens to run out & check on! We were fortunate to find these neighbors who liked to play D&D & raised backyard chickens too!

I've played card & board games w/ my small kids & even made a Peter Pan board game for them cuz I didn't have the budget to buy them games. They loved my Peter Pan game more than any purchased one & still talk about it now that they're in their 60's ~ teehee.

I'm old & my mom's gone but I still cherish all the cool doll clothes she sewed or crotched for my dolls cuz buying doll clothes in the 1940's was a frivolous expense on the farm.

Your kiddo will remember all the cool toys you make & chicken love you share w/her today💕

Whatever you wear into their store, do not wear it out to your chickens. Change your clothes and take a shower before you go out to your chickens. Who knows what has come through that store!
I will head this advice, thank you.
OMG, that looks like a Norman Rockwell photo!!! You need to submit that to the Calendar contest!!!!! 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰
Ha! I would by it is cropped to much and the rules for the Calendar photo contest are more detailed. I will throw it in for POW though!

I couldn't find anything on their website either.

Apparently, there are breeder's that are breeding their Maine Coons to have more dramatic features, emphasizing the breed's large ears, bushy tails, and strong muzzles.

They are calling these European Maine Coons.

They are not a different species. They are all Maine Coons. They are also not "to the standard" and would not make good show cats.

While Éowyn is on the larger size for a female Maine Coon she is not as unusual as a so called European Maine Coon would be.

I keep losing stuff I type or things freeze up on BYC so hope this doesn't disappear again OR post twice! Here goes...

Our hot summers are so brutal & humid that DD's only kitties were a regular all-black shorthair (like @Marie2020 's Oliver) & a spunky smart Siamese ~ we've been afraid a longhair dog or cat would suffer terribly in our locale. Sometimes I think the only reason our Silkies do so well here is their open non-barbicel fluff compared to standard chickens we've lost to heatstroke in 115/122F index heat.

Éowyn is what I remember as Maine Coons from past cat shows & they are big & beautiful. But what I like best is her temperament w/ your flock. Did you have her 1st & then get chickens? or did she come as a kitten & then raised w/chickens/chicks? How are the other cats around your birds?.

Sigh. That cat just walked into my office today. I had to tell him he couldn't enter the house. If my Nana found out he walked inside (uninvited) I'm sure the city of El Paso wouldn't exist anymore.

(I had to give it scratches to appease it.)
Personally...I think it great he trusts you that much. Hope he's a good ratter for you guys. He may just start bringing you presents of half-eaten mice, birds, or lizards❣️

It's So Hot! Let's Take Our Feathers Off!

Sydney is smarter than the average hen. She has decided to have her annual molt now. What better time to be missing feathers than when it's 90+F outside.

Hot weather starting around May-June our Dana sheds her plumes too. She can look so ratty & DH had to clean up some dangling butt fluff. & it's hard at the same time to look spiffy at 8 yrs old :old
