@Desertvalleychickens
So nice to see you back here - I've missed your videos and missed seeing your handsome boys!

Wow, super job on the evaporative cooler. Unfortunately it is way too humid here for one to work effectively - but that looks like a very neat set up - very creative (and effective!):thumbsup

So sorry to hear about your girl Tweety:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs- it is so very hard on the chooks when temps get like you have in the summer - You do an amazing job keeping them cool. Given the situation I am so amazed that you don't lose more given your horribly high temps - again, great job with them!.

A sassy tail from Diva. She has decided she is a big bird and split from the other leghorns. Sleeps in the coop on a roost and everything. View attachment 4175075
Cemani Riddick is out there thumping some young cockerels. He doesn't want them trying to breed the too young pullets.

Also, we had an incubator malfunction. I don't know how many eggs have failed yet. I'm going to wait until the 14 day candling to throw any out unless they get stinky.
Nice tail Diva!

It's official. Goose's little man is Homer.

I was outside sitting after releasing them and fed them. Goose walked by with him and I said "Hi, Homie" as they strolled past. He hopped up in my lap, too see if I had more food to offer. He chose his name though. This is the first time he has hopped up on me. Homer or Homie it is.

And yes, I had another small handful of corn in my pockets that I offered him.
Great choice! I love it.

The heat is not as bad as last year, but a chook, Tweety, still died.🙁 The temps don't usually go past 110. Ijak and the others are still doing well, and I improved the cooler. It's more like a real evaporative cooler now.
So much more to say, but it's still busy. Thanks!
