He's got some looks! Your care is doing good things for him. As long as he keeps going, you'll keep on with the best care you can for him. :hugs
I think he’s got some beautiful features. Those long blond locks, and magnificent coloring. But he needs that scar like he needs a hole in the head! Bad pun:

That photo is AMAZING. I love it, and I agree please submit it for POW.

And just in case, because I haven’t read everything after that post yet, SHRA tax.

Can’t remember if I posted this yet. Sometimes the lavenders are a little TOO friendly.

I wonder if they are hopping on me the same way they would hop on Coco, the hen who brooded them?

Awwww they trust you! They feel safe there ♥️

Thank you for this! I have Corid powder on hand, and am thinking I'll try non-medicated in the future.
Well at least they've been getting 18% and will be getting a little more now.
The big girls are getting Kalmbach 20% Full Plume Feather Feed, a layer feed. Somehow, oyster shell and egg shells on the side wasn't enough. I see Hazel (Buckeye) and Diane (Buff Orp, not "heritage" type) both regularly eating both even now. I had so many issues with thin shells with Hazel and the other Buckeyes; I was constantly popping calcium citrate into them and then calcium citrate powder in yogurt. Nutrena Feather Fixer and this feed from Kalmbach (which I can get very fresh from the local True Value store) solve it.

The one thing I learnt last year is that if your chicks are vac’ed for coccidiosis then do not feed amprolium medicated feed - it cancels out the effect of the Vax. This is why my chicks became I’ll last summer I am sure.

I say kick them out and keep a clos e eye on them. Really it’s the only thing we can do - observe and do the best we can.

You are doing a fabulous job with all your chooks ♥️

I took some pictures today. This is Chick-fil-a and the hole in his head. To be honest, he should have died from such trauma, but he’s a strong beautiful little guy. Very playful and is trying to get along normally:View attachment 4179051View attachment 4179052
I know he got badly hurt but missed what caused his injury. What was it, if you know? It’s a deep puncture there? Is it covering over in any way? Is this the dubbed guy? How cruel!

That is a clear showing of love and trust.

Yup I know about that, these guys aren’t vaccinated for coccidiosis, I don’t think Cackle offers it, as you need to get the particular local strains in your vax. They are vaccinated for Mareks though. That may cover a wider range of known strains?
