Stitchin' chickens
Will do!I've not had guinea fowl, but I leave all new birds enclosed for at least 3 days. Don't know if that's needed, but it's what we've always done.

Gorgeous girl! I can't wait to see how Tinsel & Glitter mature. SLW are so beautiful!
I don't know if you saw my 2nd post, we had read that Peacocks should be cooped up for a month. Sorry I forgot that. You might want to give the guinea fowl at least a couple of weeks, if you can. How old are they? Will do!
7 weeks? I will try to keep them cooped in!I don't know if you saw my 2nd post, we had read that Peacocks should be cooped up for a month. Sorry I forgot that. You might want to give the guinea fowl at least a couple of weeks, if you can. How old are they?

Actually - they don't have a hard time AT ALL learning where to spend the night. Up, Up, UP...where-ever they want.If I recall correctly, they have a much harder time learning where to spend the night. Maybe they will learn from the chickens?
This is true! We joked about putting a roost on the back of the roof for the guineas to sleep.Actually - they don't have a hard time AT ALL learning where to spend the night. Up, Up, UP...where-ever they want.
It is us humans that get upset with them because they are then 'not safe'; while they say, when locked up 'not free'![]()
OMG, This looks so nice - you and hubby did a great job, and I am sure everyone will love their new space!Image heavy post incoming

We have so many silkies and orpingtons! Also a couple legbars and of course the polish. One silkie who seemed deformed passed away, sadly.

Hubby made "lay trays" that I will put curtains around. Our girls like to pile up to lay so it makes sense

The creaky bagpipes are so happy to be out of that cramped cage.
You know - that just might work for them for all but the coldest time of the year. Especially if you put some 'anti-climb' material as a 'ring' around the coop near the top (think like a strip of flashing wide enough to prevent a raccoon from crossing it)....and assuming that you don't have Fishers or bobcats near you that could jump from the nearby trees. That said...I wouldn't encourage them by doing that...I would only do it if they start 'not coming to bed' on their own. This is true! We joked about putting a roost on the back of the roof for the guineas to sleep.
