It really is a hilarious picture. And what I can’t get over is how come @ChicoryBlue has chickens that bathe in their bath.
Mine ignore anything I provide and dig a hole where the fancy takes them.
I only provide dust baths for babies - once they're outside they can make their own arrangements.

"Thanks, knowing you're paying an electric bill to pointlessly heat the space under this roosting spot really makes it that much better"

Never managed to get a decent pic without waking them but they spent loads of time sleeping in that until they got an upgrade.

So the bagpipes are crowded in front of the window (which Fenix DID NOT LIKE) and the birds?

Thankfully nobody pooped at bedtime check-in. I wish I had electrical out there to run a fan...

Get hubby to get some wire good for underground, dig a small trench, bury the wire, but put a plug on the ends so you can plug into the wall at your house/garage, and the other end you can have him put a 2 or even 4 plug outlet that you can run a light and a fan off.

Went and visited the guy I get my hay from and grabbed some photos of his lovelies.

Now is this a cockerel? And I think it’s a blue jersey giant.

This is definitely a cockerel and he’s a sex-link apparently. No crowing yet…

A good problem to have, I need a new egg basket

This little bebe is not doing well. It keeps closing it's eyes and crawls away from the others, which is sad. I spent some time snuggling and drying it off inside my shirt because it got stomped all over.
This is the one whose leg was stuck under the wing and couldn't kick out of the egg.

We are going to check the uh...electrical power level? At the garage and run wire if it's safe. A similar method was used to run it to the shed, but I believe they laid pvc pipe and ran the wire through that?

My dad owns a construction company, he's worked with enough electricians and plumbers to adequately install both! That said, it was my uncles who did a lot of the extra wiring here, including the dishwasher being on a non-appliance rated extension cord for power. 😬

Edit: the dishwasher was removed and dad keeps promising to set up a proper hookup for a new one

That white looks like a Delaware: Colombian markings, but barred.

The giants: how old are they?

A Test

So I did an experiment tonight. I went and sat in the Phyllistines' roosting chair at dusk to see what they would do if it was occupied when they wanted to roost.

They came at me from both sides. They were very cross with me.

Nimue then tried to evaluate me as a roost.

I was found to be unsuitable and Nimue headed off to the coop taking Niamh with her.

However, Niamh wanted to ask one more time and came back out to see if I would change my mind.

I did not relent and she went into the coop and went to bed.
